VISION AND HEARING SCREENING Sept 27th Chair: Katy Foster

Chair organizes student vision and hearing screening with school nurse, organizes volunteers, plans and budgets for volunteer lunch. Volunteers work with students and help with the screening process.

CATALOG and COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER Chair: Katy Foster

Chair coordinates catalogs, sends fliers, keeps track of order forms, money, and delivery of product. Volunteers help to deliver products.

PICTURE DAY September 16th Chair:

Chair coordinates volunteers for picture day and picture retakes. Volunteers retrieve students from classrooms and work with photographers to take order forms.

FALL FESTIVAL October 22rd Chair: Dennis Enriquez

Coordinates and assist all sub-chairs. Responsible for filing all appropriate paperwork, fill out facility request form, make fliers, and prepare and keep budget.

Sub-Chairs coordinate and communicate with chairperson.

Booths: Homeroom parent responsible for signing up people to run the booth. Choose or make games for class.

Food Chair: Eileen March

Set-Up Chair:  responsible for getting people to set up booths, decorations, tables, get games and prizes ready.

Clean-Up Chair: Responsible for taking down booths, repacking games, etc.

Prizes Chair:

Games Chair: Responsible to make sure each booth has a game or to make up new games.

Raffle Prizes: Everyone is needed to help get donations from parents or local businesses.

VALENTINE’S SOCIAL February 10th Chair:

Chair submits facility request form, budget for food and entertainment, orders and purchases food and supplies and coordinates volunteers. Volunteers help with set up and clean up and sale of T-shirts, food and flowers.

FIELD DAY March

Kindergarten Chair:                                                                         1st – 6th Chair:

Chairs work with P.E. teacher to organize games, teams, equipment needed, order ribbons, and send out fliers. Volunteers help monitor activity stations the day of the event.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK May 7th – 11th  Chair: Janine Nicol

Chair coordinates all daily activities, presents delivered daily, gifts made or bought, budget, and organizes luncheon. Coordinates volunteers to help deliver and obtain gifts. Volunteers help with delivery of gifts and set up and clean up of luncheon.

HOMEROOM PARENT Sign up to be homeroom parent, in your child’s class, to work with teacher to coordinate classroom events, Fall Festival, Silent Auction and in getting information out to parents.

YEARBOOK Chair: Sarah Birkett

Coordinates volunteers, works with yearbook company, plans budget for film and processing, sell yearbooks at Navajo events. Volunteers take pictures at events and use editing program to put pages together.

SCHOOL DIRECTORY Chair: Jennifer Webb

Chair sends forms and puts together school directory. Volunteers copy and bind directories.

BOOK FAIR

Chair works with Media Supervisor arranging book fair, sending fliers, enlisting volunteers, handling transactions. Volunteers help with set up, sales during the fair, and breaking down.

SUSD PARENT COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE Chair: Katy Foster

Attend monthly meetings of the Scottsdale Unified School District. Distribute information discussed in meeting to Navajo.

RESTAURANT NIGHTS   Chair: Sarah Birkett

Coordinate which restaurant fundraiser, send fliers, meet and greet at restaurant, follow up with receiving check.

TEACHER BREAKFAST Quarterly

Chair distributes flyers requesting food and beverage donations to participating grades, and coordinates volunteers.  Volunteers set up and clean up.

ADOPT A FAMILY

Arrange with community specialist to adopt Navajo families for Christmas. Coordinates volunteers to help with shopping and wrapping presents, send out fliers, arrange for tree to be put up with tags filled out with requests. CHANGE DRIVE works in conjunction with Adopt A Family. Make and send fliers, distribute collection containers to classrooms, collect and count change, plan a prize for the class with the highest donation and announce results.

MASTERPIECE OF THE ARTS PROGRAM

Volunteer enrichment program that uses art work. Arrange for volunteers to visit their child’s classroom every month and present an artist and art project to the students. The students, teacher, and M.A.P. volunteers learn about the various types of art or artist.

Teacher Assistance Program (TAPs) Tuesday and Wednesday 9 am to noon  Assists in the workroom with copy projects, lamination, binding and distribution of fliers. DOES NOT need to be a regular commitment or for the full 3 hours. We’ll take any help you can offer.
